To ensure your safety in the home your electrical installation should be regularly tested and inspected to BS7671 2008 - IEE Wiring Regulations 17th Edition - at least every five years (10 years for new homes).

Look out for warning signs of dangerous wiring:

Hot plugs and sockets, or scorch marks
scorched socket - call CP Electrics, Aberaeron

Fuses that blow for no obvious reason

Old-style fuse boards with re-wireable fuses
Flickering light, CP electrics can cure this

Lights that flicker on and off

Use of extension leads & adaptors due to insufficient socket outlets
